Peter Griffin

For those people who watches Family Guy, my co-worker found real world model of Peter Griffin (probably not but looks pretty dang close).

Now, let's try to look for the rest of the Griffin family members :-).

Back Home

My parents finally arrived last night. The flight was supposed land at 6:35 pm but was delayed to 7:00 pm. I arrived at the airport at 7:15 thinking will give me only 5 - 10 min of wait time. Boy, was I ever wrong. For people who has picked up people from the airport, airport security do not allow you to park and wait at the arrival pick up area so I end up circling around 5, 6 times. After waiting for them to phone me after 30 min, I gave up looking for them and parked in the gas station near the airport.

At 7:50, I finally got a call from my dad that they're finally checked out and ready to be picked up. Good thing he actually called me as I almost gave up waiting and was thinking of heading back home if I did not hear from them after 8 pm.

My mom is still some what beaten up from the long flight back home and injuries but at least they're back home sound and safe. What my parents told me is that accident happened because someone on the motorcycle was trying to steal my mom's backpack from behind and probably pushed her into the ground causing to hit the head, broke 6 ribs and a collar bone.

Missing Thinkpad T42

When I came in this morning to work, I found myself my Thinkpad T42 is missing. I locked the laptop to the secure location and I have the key to the lock with me all the time. I asked around and no one seems to know where my laptop is. It is annoying that I have to go through the process to set up the laptop and build the documentation stored locally on the laptop. Hope Kelly Services don’t make me pay for it….

If you guys see 6 months old Thinkpad T42 for sale, let me know ;-).

Update from Iran 2

Yesterday I had to go to bank again to deal with money transfer to Iran. First, they call me up to inform that I cannot send US Dollars to Iran so on Saturday I went to my bank to make another wire transfer to Iran. But this time in Canadian fund. But since Saturday is not business day so the transaction cannot be completed until Monday. But early Monday morning I got a call from my dad, informing me that he DID receive $6,000 USD. Now I had to go to bank again to stop the transaction…. I still don’t know why they call me up to inform that I can’t send USD to Iran and in fact that the transaction did go through…. Oh well, at least my dad received money he needed.

Update from Iran

Got a call from my dad yesterday while I was driving to my work. He states that he needs to transfer $6,000 USD to the account he just opened in Iran bank from the US joined account. I had to call in work to get a day off to do transaction for my dad. When I was at the bank trying to do the transaction, my dad only gave me 3 pieces of info so a lady at the teller was a bit confused. She was able to complete the transaction but she informed me that it is not guaranteed. Apparently it will take up to 5 business days and after 5 business days, they can do the trace to find out where money has gone missing.

Accident in Iran

Yes, I got mixed up with Iran and Iraq and my parents are in Iran. Any ways, when I came back home on Friday night, my brother told me that there is a message for me from my dad. Checked the message and it was about my mom went through an accident. Apparently she hit the head, broke a collar bone and 6 ribs. My parents had travel insurrance but apparently it's kind of insurrance that you have to pay up front. My dad was concern that he did not have enough cash on him. So he opened an account there and called home and left a message to wire transfer $8,000 USD on first thing Monday.

As I was worried, I got a call from my dad in Monday morning updating the status of my mom that she's fine and she just went through an operation to re-attach the collar bone and he had enough cash and did not had to trasfer the cash. As I was relief to hear that operation was OK and she was able to get out from the hospital and able to come back home in a few days.
